Happy Woman’s Day: A Big Thank You to Give the World Purpose and Pride

Happy women's day & Happy Woman’s Day

First of all, happy women’s day to the pretty woman who’s reading this blog. I would like to start the blog with a small exercise, Yeah!! Lazy ones can skip it right here.

So let me hashtag you a simple question.

Name any 5 Male scientists. ….

OK fine, Good job!! …..

Now name any 5 Female Scientists.

..Hmmm …” Madam Curie” …. And???

Aye!! No cheating, No google……

We did this exercise in our office and we could really see “? “ popping out of their face. A large number of us are fortunate to be part of an organisation where gender equality is the core value.

So today we won’t try to infuse any beauty products in our blog. Therefore we just want to tell you that “Makeup may not suit you, Confidence always will.” Though every woman has played an amazing role in shaping this world. Therefore due to space constraints, we would like to introduce some of them to you. As if saying happy women’s day is not enough to cheer all those awesome souls who worked hard.

Here are some women like you, who make us who we are.

Rosa Parks: A civil Right Activist

Boycotting the segregation law Rosa Parks refused to give up her bus seat for a white man in 1955. Which was followed by her arrest and protest of her community in her support. The protesters stopped travelling by bus which led to financial losses of bus companies. However protesters started buying stuff from nearby shops, other markets started losing money as well.

Almost after one year of her refusal of giving up the seat, the court ruling came terming segregation laws unconstitutional.

Shubhra Chadda: CEO of Chumbak

Sold her house to start Chumbak and now got $2 million as initial funding. Their attractive and colourful products are eye-catchy and often compel you to buy because of reasonable prices.

It’s become the hottest lifestyle brand with 150 stores in India and 70 in Japan, with a strong online presence. People working with google Adwords must be aware that even Google has chosen Chumbak to advertise for them.

Debbie Sterlin: Founder and CEO of GoldieBlox

She developed GoldieBlox after noticing the lack of available engineering toys targeted at girls. However, companies thought that girls would not want to play with any toy other than princesses and dolls. The company makes educational toys for girls which includes spinning machine construction tools etc.

They have already won so many prestigious awards including 2014 Educational Toy of the Year by a toy industry association.

In conclusion

these are just a glimpse of what we can do?  By saying happy women’s day is not enough to encourage one to step ahead in the world. However, we are the one who can set the new rules to work in our own way.

Salute to all women in this world. From Vedicline a very happy women’s day to all women all around.
